Synergies and practical checks

• It goes for the toughest monster in reach that its blow can hurt: one immune to physical damage is passed by, unless your weapon adds an element it takes or the charges it releases hurt it.
• Its fourth blow drains more, and heals you a share of all that blow and its drain dealt. Unlike Life Stolen, the monster and the difficulty don’t cut it.
• What a blow can’t deal heals nothing: a monster immune to it, or life it hasn’t got. A finisher releasing fewer than three charges heals by the charges it releases.

Skill modifiers

• Spit — The drain also hits the 4 nearest monsters around its target, for 25% each.
• Quick Drain — It drains every third blow instead of every fourth, each drain as hard and healing as much.
• Fang — The drain deals 80% more to elites and bosses and 40% less to other monsters.
